21st Century Skills
Many times referred to as “The Four C’s” (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity), 21st Century Skills refer to those skills that students needs in order to be prepared to be successful in a globally competitive world in which many of the occupations they will eventually pursue may not even exist today. Now, more than ever, it is essential that teachers have the tools required to ensure all students have access to the engaging and effective instruction they need to gain the job-centered skills that will allow them to succeed in this new and exciting 21st Century world.
Google is far more than just an excellent search tool. The Google Suite tools help teachers and students create, collaborate, communicate, organize, and assess, more efficiently, more effectively, and in a way that is far more engaging for all involved. And, when coupled with Chrome, Google’s web browser, and many of its own specialized tools, educators and students have instant access to a truly state- of – the – art education experience.Part 1 covers Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drive. Part 2 covers Forms, Drawing, Sites, and Chrome. Participants can take either, or both parts, in any order.
For all the recent advances in technology, there is also a real need to ensure that everyone is able to both use that technology and also to exist in a digital world in a safe and productive manner. Today’s young people are truly pioneers, and with all the wonderful possibilities that exist for them, it is also essential that they are effectively educated about the benefits and the dangers of digital citizenship.
Project Based Learning
Project Based Learning, or PBL, is an instructional method that significantly increases student engagement, and, when executed properly, is a critical part of a full paradigm shift that puts students at the center of the learning.
PBL emphasizes collaboration, critical thinking and analysis, and perhaps, most importantly, true and marketable skill sets students need to succeed in the new global, competitive marketplace. PBL still should include all the education standards you are expected to implement, but it does so in a way that is for more engaging and educationally valid than, for example, the more common and far less effective lecture/ demo methodology.
Media communications courses can help you learn to broadcast, produce and learn to create music and media through our anytime, anywhere, and at any pace online learning environment.
